Vénuce is a French-born artist who now lives in Lisbon after spending 10 years in Paris. She began drawing at the age of 4 and never stopped. A means of expressing and analyzing her relationship with others and with herself, these silhouettes are inspired by the people she has looked at, fallen in love with and crossed paths with. Passionate about human anatomy, she draws bodies and creates a balance between what we see, what we'd like to see, what's hidden behind social conventions, giving them a sexual “nonchalance” that defines her best. Her hypersensitivity guides her towards a perpetual inner quest, with interests in neuroscience, ancient art, philosophy and sociology.
